Boy Scouts sponsor thank you to Ventura County firefighters

The Boy Scouts of America, Ventura County Council, is sponsoring a thank-you to the Ventura County Fire Department for their "life-and-home-saving work" in fighting the Simi fire in Simi Valley and in Moorpark. All elementary schoolchildren in Simi Valley and Moorpark are invited to their local fire station between 3-5 p.m. Sat., Nov. 15 to personally thank the firefighters.

All children planning on attending are asked to bring with them a thank-you card or poster that they have personally made to tell the firefighters how much they are appreciated. At the fire stations, the children will be shown the equipment the firefighters used and will be able to hear the firefighters’ personal stories.

The fire stations in Moorpark are:

Mountain Meadows Station, 4185 Cedar Springs St.;

Moorpark Station, 782 Moorpark Ave.

The fire stations in Simi Valley are:

Knolls Station, 1262 Cypress St; Tapo Street Station, 3265 N. Tapo St.; Church Street Station, 1910 Church St.; West Simi Station, 790 Pacific Ave.; and Wood Ranch Station, 1050 Country Club Drive.
