Cal Lutheran swimmers, drivers excel locally California Lutheran University diver Ashleigh Poulin won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events recently at a SCIAC meet hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Whittier also competed at the meet. Poulin is now three-for-three in diving victories as she won the 1-meter race at Pomona-Pitzer on Oct. 25. Jen Danielson placed third in the 200-yard freestyle, fifth in the 200-yard butterfly and sixth in the 50-yard freestyle. In the 100-yard freestyle, Lexi Lyon took fifth and Clarice Hammett was sixth. Brittany Zubiate finished eighth. In team scoring, Claremont topped the Regals 177-36 and Whittier outscored CLU 103-68. Claremont won the meet as it defeated Whittier 185-33. This is the inaugural season for swimming and diving at CLU. |
