Holocaust victims remembered

The public is invited to join in honoring the spirit of humanity at the Yom Hashoah commemoration at 10 a.m. Sun., April 23 at The Grove of the Righteous Rescuers in Mount Sinai Memorial Park at Simi, 6150 Mount Sinai Drive in Simi Valley. The event is to remember victims of the Nazi holocaust. The Grove will pay tribute

to all those

who strove to rescue Jews and others during World War II.

Participants will hear firsthand testimony from Sandy Lebman, who will recount his experiences with the liberation forces at Dachau, and Danish survivor Bent Lerno.

The B'nai Emet Congregation Choir will sing and Rabbi Michelle Paskow of that synagogue will present a message.

In observance of one of Judaism's most abiding traditions, all present will may participate in the religious ritual of wearing a yellow kria remembrance ribbon to symbolize the yellow stars worn by the Holocaust victims.

For more information and to reserve a place at the commemoration, call Lesley Rich at (800) 6000076, ext. 407, or e-mail lrich@mountsinaiparks.org.
