Investment firm to host tax, legal planning class

Jennifer Loper, the local Edward Jones investment representative, will host a "Year-end Tax and Legal Planning Strategies" professional broadcast course at 10 a.m. Wed., Dec. 13 at 484 E. Los Angeles Ave., Ste. 207, Moorpark.

The program will present the latest topics in tax and legal planning, new legislation, cases and rulings relevant to the general practitioner in preparing 2006 tax returns and advising clients during this tax season. The program highlights the new developments practitioners will need to assist their individual and small business clients during tax season.

The course is approved for five credit hours of continuing professional education and continuing legal education for attorneys, CPAs and tax professionals.

Topics to be covered include 2006 legislative changes affecting small business owners, new IRS rulings, court decisions and tax planning opportunities.

The course is $60, which includes all course materials. Reservations are required.
