Special Olympics practice starts

Practices begin tomorrow, Sat., Jan. 20 for Special Olympics Track & Field competition from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the ARC facility, 5143 Cochran St., Simi Valley.

Young adults, teens and children with disabilities ages 8 and up are invited to participate.

Practices will be most Saturdays until the Special Olympics competition in early May.

Participants will develop skills in running, shot put, and other track and field events. No experience is necessary and coaching will be provided.

The coaches are Jennifer Williams and Amzie Meredith. Williams is a special education teacher at Garden Grove Elementary School. Meredith works as a trainer at the ARC facility.
