Club speaker to discuss Neptune's moon

The Ventura County Astronomical Society will host guest speaker Dr. Gary Peterson, geology professor at San Diego State University, at the monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Fri., Feb. 16 in the multipurpose room at Mesa Union School, 3901 Mesa School Road, Somis.

Peterson is an independent planetologist. He will discuss "The Cryogenic World of Triton," a large satellite orbiting Neptune. Surface temperatures of Triton are about 40 Kelvin, cold enough to condense the heavier gases.

The public is invited and there is no charge to attend.
