Pet dentist added to animal hospital staff

Simi Valley Animal Hospital announces the staff addition of Lee Jane Huffman, DVM, board certified dental specialist and Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College. There are less than 100 veterinary dental specialists worldwide.

Research indicates that seven out of 10 pets presented to veterinarians suffer from periodontal injury or disease. According to Huffman, gum disease, tooth and jaw fractures, lesions and tumors are the most common forms of dental disease in animals.

A typical oral exam on a pet runs around $100.
