Learn about the heavenduring Astronomy Day
The Ventura County Astronomical Society will celebrate National Astronomy Day with a daylight activity from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat., April 21 at The Lakes, 2200 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks.
At 8 p.m., weather permitting, a short presentation about the night sky followed by telescope observations will take place at the Charles Temple Observatory at Moorpark College, 7075 Campus Road.
The daytime family celebration will include displays, children's activities, eyesafe solar observing and telescope displays by Woodland Hills Camera.
The evening presentation is suitable for adults and children over 8 years old. Redlight flashlights and warm clothing and blankets are suggested.
