Wohlstattar to coach boys' basketball at MHS

Adam Wohlstattar has been named Moorpark High's new boys' varsity basketball coach.

Wohlstattar, who spent the past three seasons as the girls' head coach at MHS, replaces Tim Bednar.

Bednar spent 18 years leading the Musketeer boys before stepping down late last month.

"It was a natural move, but it wasn't necessarily easy," Wohlstattar, 30, said.

"Leaving the girls and the girls' program was not an easy move. But being with the boys and staying at Moorpark and with what's familiar here, it does make the transition more natural."

Before coaching the girls' squad, Wohlstattar spent four years as the boys' junior varsity coach at MHS.

"Basketball is basketball, and Xs and Os are never going to change," he said. "It's still the same game, and I'm still going to do things similarly in that approach."
