Magical Kitchen to open soon

The Magical Kitchen will open its doors at 10 a.m. Sat., May 5 at the Sycamore Plaza, 2792 Cochran St., Simi Valley.

The day's events will include a Magical Tea Party for a parent and child age 6 and up from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; cooking demonstrations by Chef Jet Tila from 6 to 8 p.m. and 8 to 10 p.m.; and giveaways and raffle prizes for classes and products, plus discounts and special offers.

Tila is planning a "Cinco de Mayo Magical Style" celebration demonstrating appetizers with Asian and Mexican selections.

The Magical Kitchen is a cooking demonstration and gourmet retail establishment, the first of its kind to open in the Ventura/Los Angeles county area. The store will offer a wide range of cooking classes and demonstrations, meal assembly sessions, wine seminars and tastings, gourmet and specialty food products and upscale kitchen equipment and gadgets. The store will feature fully equipped Viking professional kitchens.

A pre-opening Wine Basics class will be taught by store sommelier Tim Robertson on May 3. He will teach the basics of wine- where it comes from, how it is made, reading the wine label and more. Tasting will include four California wines.

The Magical Kitchen is available for private affairs such as birthdays, anniversaries, wedding and baby showers, dinner club gatherings and corporate meetings.

Regular store hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
