Ventura to host ALS benefit walk

The third annual Walk to D'Feet ALS will take place Sun., April 29 at Plaza Park aChestnut and Santa Clara streetin Ventura. Registration beginat 9:30 a.m. and the opening ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Walkers are asked to register online at www.alsala.org, oby calling the office at (818865-8067, ext. 229.

The event is a fundraiser to benefit research and patient care services for people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)

Commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, the disease affects the function of the nerveand muscles, and people with ALS have an average life expectancy of two to five yearfrom the time of diagnosis.
