Fundraiser features karate and coffee

Kicking It Up with Jazz and Joe will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sun., May 20 at the Tang Soo Do University, 5285 Kazuko court, Moorpark.

The event will include live jazz music by the Lane 29 band and jazz students from Moorpark High and Mesa Verde Middle schools, karate demonstrations, coffee, bake sale, face painting, chair massage, and a board break-a-thon, with proceeds going to the American Diabetes Association.

Funds raised at the event will support the vision of Our Community House of Hope, a freestanding nonprofit hospice house for terminally ill residents.
