Mother's Day is May 13 and Moorpark Acorn readers offer these wishes to the best moms in the world

My mom is the best mom in the world. My mom helps me get ready for school. She does my hair for me. My mom is gorgeous. She makes delicious dinner. She is the best mom in the whole wide world.

Mitch King

My mom is the best mom because when mom sees I'm sick she gives me medicine and lets me watch T.V. She also lets me play on the computer. When I'm tired of playing on the computer she lets me play my Playstation 2.

When I'm tired of playing my Playstation 2 she lets me play outside and she loves me so much, and I lover her too.

Krishna Ramesh

My mom is the best mom in the world because she tucks me in at night and she helps me in the morning . She makes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She is there for me when I'm sick, she roots for me when I play baseball and she helps me with everything. She is Super Mom. I lover her and she loves me.

Evan Reinhardt

My mom is the best mom in the world because she buys me clothes that I like, she helps me get ready for school, and she makes me breakfast, lunch and dinner. And she loves and cares for me the most, and that's what I appreciate about her. So this is why she is the best mom in the whole wide world.

My mom is special because she goes roller skating with me and she makes the best chocolate chip cookies and she reads me a book and tucks me in bed and says good night. She takes care of me and she gives me food and water and love. I do not know what I would do without you. You buy me a home and a bed and a room. You get me clothes and shirts and pants and sox and underwear and a hat.

Aryon

My mom is special because she can make the best tacos. My mom is silly. She got her make-up and put lipstick on my dad when he was sleeping. She made him like a girly girl with a lot of make-up. When my dad woke up he said that he looked like a clown. My mom is special because she's silly and funny and I like it when she is silly and funny. That is special to me a lot and I love it.

Brianna Garcia

The reason my mom is special is because she is scary and very good at being silly. My mom is also silly because she was cooking some Indian bread with oil. My mom accidentally put too much oil, and then there was a fire on the pan as tall as a cat. Then she grabbed a jar of water and poured it on the fire and it was out. I was afraid. "Whew," said my mom. My mom had to recycle the pan I thought my mom was a fire fighter. That's why my mom is special.

Shiv Shankav

My mom is nice because she took us to Foto Figlys. We all had fun. Then my mom said, "would you like to have your birthday party here?" I said "yes!" I invited all of my friends and we all had fun. My mom took pitures of my party, so I can remember how much fun we had.

Zachary Di Giovanni

My mom is the best cook. She makes cookies and pastries. The most best pastries are her Indian pastries. Her sweets are her best because she makes mixes that are sweet and spicy ones too. Sometimes she lets me help her and it is a lot of fun. And sometimes I wonder what she uses. I think it would be fun to learn how to cook the foods she knows. I wonder where she learned how to make such good food. And that is why my mom is the best and the most special person.

Reshmika Ramesh

I would like to go to the park with my mom. And I would also like that she wouldn't have her job for then we could have time together. I would like her to make tamales. I would like to go to Del Taco and eat lots of tacos. I would love to go to the beach and have a picnic and make sand castles and play in the water.

Katelyn Diaz

My mom is special because she plays with me. When she plays with me I always win. She is special too, because

She showed me how to make tamales and now I help her make tamales. When it was Christmas my aunt asked me to help them. I told them okay, but only for two hours. It was fun when I was putting the masa with my mom. My mom is so nice with me and my mom told me I was the coolest girl with her. I told her you are the coolest mama in my life.

Alejandra Gonzales

My mom is special, she makes the best cookies in the world. To make the cookies first you get sprinkles, and the dough and then you cook them for ten minutes. Another thing why my mom is special is she makes lots of different cookies. I like the cookies that my mom makes the best. My entire family likes the cookies my mom makes. One time my mom forgot to put the sprinkles on the cookies and that was funny. My mom forgot to take the cookies out of the oven. The cookies were burnt and nobody ate them.

Richard Garcia

My mom is special because she is funny. One time she was at the gas station and my mom lost her car keys. After we searched everywhere, we searched in my mom's purse, we looked in the trunk, and we look at food mart. My mom put her hands in her pocket because se was cold. Guess whet we found? It was in her pocket the whole time. Silly mom! I love you.

Alexis Ruth

I said one morning, "I will race you to the bathroom " and she was walking very slow. And I said I would race you then I went to her closet and I hid in one of her cabinets. When she came out of the bathroom I opened the cabinet and said "boo!" she jumped up a little bit. We went down stairs so my mommy could drink coffee and I could eat breakfast. I was watching a cartoon when I was eating breakfast. After I finished breakfast I had to do my Kuman. And this is why my mom is special.

Brianna Sawai

My mom is special because she is really silly. Because one time my mom started a pillow fight at my Nana's house. It all started out like any other day at Nana's house, toys and fun, then my mom took a pillow and threw it at my sister. My sister threw it back and it went on. Finally my mom caught the pillow and stopped . My mom said "stop throwing the pillow at me." Everyone laughed. My mom, dad, sister, brother, me, aunts, uncles everyone laughed. As you can see that is my silly and special mom.

Jessica Jacobs

My mom makes the best tamales because she loves us and we love her. My mom makes posole on the weekends because my brother Serg and my dad don't go to work. My mom makes tamales because they're special for her. Me and my mom make tamales. We get messy and it's so much fun getting messy with my mom because I like getting messy. Then me and my mom clean up the kitchen. Then my mom helps me with my homework. Then the bell rang and the tamales were ready to eat. The tamales were good and sweet. That is why my mom is special.

Leslie Aragon

My mom is special because she helps me do my homework when I don't know or when I'm reading a book. She helps me with my homework and she makes delicious food and tamales. They taste so good. She's the best. She also buys me almost whatever I want. She also takes me everywhere I want. This weekend she's taking me to the zoo. She's taking me to the zoo because I've never been to the zoo. I can't wait to see the crocodiles and snakes. It's going to be so much fun. This is why my mom is special.

America Cortez

My mother is special in many ways because she is athletic like me. And something happened on an ordinary day, when my mom and I were passing a big, round soccer ball with the small goals all set up. Suddenly she accidentally kicked the ball too hard. Then it hit my head with a thump. After it hit my head I started to cry. Then my mom came rushing over and took me inside. My mom got an icepack for me. After that I felt better, and it was all thanks to my super mom.

Evan Hrychyk

One usual day my mom and I went to the strawberry carnival. My mom was excited. She was comforting me when I was on a roller coaster. I was scared. The ride kept doing loop de loop. I almost got sick, but my mom comforted me. Then we checked out this other ride, but I was too tall for it. I was sad, but my mom still comforted me. We went to a little playground. I hit my head on it, but my mom still comforted me. I love my mom because she always comforts me.

Natalie Myers

My mom is special because she always tells me to keep on trying. Once when I was climbing on a big rock and I fell, she told me to keep on trying. I kept on trying and falling. Finally I made it. Then my mom tried to climb the rock also. My mom couldn't do it either. I then told her to keep trying. She kept trying. Finally she made it to the top of the rock. I love my mom because she tells me not to give up.

Ryien Hosseini

In Mexico, it all started on the beach. I asked if I could go see teens going somewhere. My mom said "yes." We hiked there, we also swimmed. The water was cold. Finally we got there. We had to go in a very dark and scary cave. Then there was an opening. "Now what?" my mom asked. I thought we were lost. Then my dare devil mom started climbing a huge bull dozer. More like a rock mountain. "Mom, what are you doing? I never knew you were great at climbing rocks. I guess you're pretty special."

Natalie Beylin

My mom is funny because she lost her car keys at the karate studio on their front table. She went crazy. She went running around the karate studio asking everyone, " have you seen my car keys?" Then she looked in the playing room and it was filled with people everywhere. And then she called my dad and asked " can you bring my back up car keys to karate?" Then we left for two days and came back. Mr. Canady asked "are these your car keys?" My mom said "yes" and then we went back home in a minute before dinner and then we at. I was full.

Janet Helen Wild, formerly of Thousand Oaks and Moorpark: 2007 is the 10th anniversary of her passing. Everyone agrees she had a strong, friendly, gracious personality and was the "Martha Stewart of Thousand Oaks."

She loved to work in her garden, bake goodies, prepare gourmet meals and could have been a professional interior designer.

She was Jan of "Jan's Wedding Receptions and Party Planning."

She was the best grandma to her four grandchildren by sharing her time and teaching them life's values hands on.

She was the best mom by teaching her two daughters the life skills necessary to grow up to be women she was proud of.

Susan Ashcraft, Simi Valley

Dear Mom, Thanks for always being there. You are an amazing person and my life would fall apart without you. You somehow find time to do everything I need. Thanks for always coming to the rescue no matter how tight your schedule is. We have so much fun together. You are the best friend that I could not afford to lose, because I could not survive without you. I will always cherish the moments we have together, especially the times we laughed about the guy that jumps out of piles of boxes, ha ha. I love you and our crazy moments! Thanks.

Milinda Mawley, Moorpark

My mom was a Girl Scout leader, PTA president, and baker of cupcakes. And she also worked for the Drug Enforcement Agency and fearlessly traveled solo through Eastern Europe and the outermost islands of Indonesia.

She is probably the person with the highest "emotional intelligence" IQ I know. She is the one who always senses when someone might be feeling left out of the conversation and goes out of her way to make them feel included and draw them out. She knows everyone's name, makes others feel welcome, and really listens. She is amazing and I love her!

Marilyn Green, Moorpark

My very special mom is the best a mom can be. She will care when your sick and she'll be very quick. My report card is your report card because it just shows how greatly you are raising me. I would rather have you than a trillion dollars, because just like the MasterCard commercial, you're truly priceless. Some will sacrifice great for talents that you hold and use in a lot of great ways. So mom, I want you to know I love you in a million ways and hope you notice.

My 18th birthday fell during my first week away at college. I was thoroughly homesick and I hadn't exactly made any new friends yet. In other words, I was prepared to spend the day alone, sulking. However, my mom had other ideas. She surprised me by showing up with the family, and brought the party to me! She brought cake and presents and even invited some of my dorm neighbors. We had a blast. We even went out to dinner afterwards. Leave it to my amazing Mom to make sure my milestone birthday was a day I'd never forget.

Most importantly, my mom gives me love. Without her love and comfort, my days would not be as wonderful and glorious. Thank you, mom, for everything that you give me. I love you! Happy Mother's Day.

Our mom is the best mom anyone could ask for. She is very special to us because she is always there no matter what. From making sure we are on time for everything, to getting us back and forth from our different activities, she keeps our lives under control. She manages the lives of her three children as well as runs a small clothing business. She makes our lives easier with each caring thing she does and we can't express enough gratitude. We're sorry to break it to you, but our mother is simply the best. Here are some reasons, just to name a few: She has played hoops with the one and only Harlem Globetrotters. Cool, huh?

Her New Year's resolution last year was to run two miles in 25 minutes, and she even exceeded that goal. Mom sprinted past the finish line in 24 minutes and 17 seconds. We were proud of you, babe (of course, we went out to celebrate).

She rocks out on Guitar Hero like it's no one else's business.
