Two schools to play concerts

Arroyo West Elementary and Chaparral Middle schools in Moorpark will present their respective end of the school year Grande Finale concerts next week.

Arroyo West's band, orchestra and choir will perform at 6:30 p.m. Wed., May 30 at Chaparral Middle School, 280 Poindexter Ave. More than 90 students will play a variety of music, including solo and ensemble work, classics to contemporary. Chaparral's instrumental musicians will give their concert at 6:30 p.m. Thurs., May 31 in the school gymnasium at 280 Poindexter Ave.

The event will feature the school's award-winning groups, including the string orchestra and the jazz band. Advanced students will perform solos and ensemble work.
