Enjoys the new business column

Congratulations to the Moorpark Acorn for your new business series by Randy Wheeler. His article published on May 11, "Find expert help when needed," is right on target. Any small business owner should read this article over and over again.

No small business owner is an expert at every position, no matter the education level or years of experience. We all need help and we don't necessarily have to have that help sitting on the bench on our current payroll. Including outside positions (attorneys, bankers, accountants, marketing experts, certified management accountants, human resource experts) on our organizational charts fills in pieces so that the CEO can spend the time that he or she needs to spend on what they are best at- performing that specialty, building that widget, whatever.

We've retained Mr. Wheeler before on several occasions and he has proven himself to be a valuable asset on several projects. He has also assisted us on measuring our performance on several different levels to ensure that we monitor our own performance levels and make corrections as necessary to meet our own goals.
