Synagogue to teach children about health

Temple Beth Haverim will host Family Health and Fitness Fest 2007 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sun., June 3 at 29900 Ladyface Court, Agoura Hills.

The event is designed to teach children about the importance of exercise and good nutrition. The day will include The Tumblebees bus, a school bus converted into a gymnastics studio, and an agility, balance, coordination and strength circuit.

Family activities include yoga, karate, healthy snacks, raffle, nutritious food for purchase, and a TrikeBikeScooterStrollerathon. Cantor Kenny Ellis will perform live music.

Guest speakers will include Bette Alkazian of Balanced parenting and Stephanie Enton, a pre- and postnatal yoga instructor.

A percentage of all net proceeds will benefit Beit Issie Shapiro, a preschool in Israel for children with diverse abilities and special needs.
