Relay chair thanks community I'd like to thank the community of Moorpark for their generosity at this year's Relay for Life. It was exciting to see close to 1,500 people come out and spend 24 hours together to raise money for cancer research. Some of the highlights of the event included Lisa Gehrin's speech about her daughter Kristen, a survivor. As the crowd listened to her, there were times of laughter, and sometimes sadness touch their hearts. After Lisa's inspirational speech, it was the perfect time to begin the Survivors' Lap around the track. Another special moment was when Breanna Pflaumer showed up without her wheelchair and with a big smile on her face. If you've been following the Breanna Pflaumer story, then you know how powerful that moment was for all of us. Because of the American Cancer Society, we have a chance to make a difference in our community, in our nation and in our world. To Moorpark High School, the city of Moorpark and to all of our sponsors, thank you for supporting the American Cancer Relay for Life for Moorpark. I'd like to thank my committee for a job well done. Without you, this couldn't have happened. To the Moorpark Relay Committee of 2007, "You rock."
