Kids can study nature at zoo camp
Full day, half day sessions available

America's Teaching Zoo at Moorpark College presents Junior Safari Creepy Crawly summer camp for grades 3 to 5 from Mon. through Fri., July 16 through 20.

A full week of camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and costs $275.

Half-day sessions are Early Birds from 8:30 a.m. to noon and Night Owls from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., each at $145.

The camp offers an insider's experience with the zoo's animal collection while participating in age-appropriate science-based learning experiences.

All projects are designed not only to entertain, but also to educate the campers about the natural world of animals.

The campers have special access to the back areas, barns, classrooms, zoo kitchen, and wildlife theater.

A special lesson about the zoo's new endangered butterfly rearing program, the Palos Verdes blue butterfly project, is also planned.
