Children's entertainer slated for free park concert

The Moorpark/Simi Neighborhood for Learning, a First 5 funded program, presents Jose LuisOrorzco in a free children's concert in the park, 5 to 8 p.m., Fri., June 29 by the soccer fields, Arroyo Vista Community Park, 4550 Tierra Rejada Road, Moorpark.

Jason Flame's Tang Soo Do University School of Martial Arts will give demonstrations between 5 and 6 p.m. as families eat their picnic dinners. Orozco will perform from 6 to 7 p.m. and will visit with families afterwards until 8 p.m.

Orozco is an award-winning children's author, songwriter, performer and recording artist. His shows are in both English and Spanish.

According to event organizers, his "music is filled with color, animation, and Latino flavor that motivates all young children to learn about the Spanish language and the rich tradition of Latin American children's music."

Families are invited to bring a picnic basket dinner and lawn seating.
