McDonald's robbed

The McDonald's restaurant at 501 E. Los Angeles Ave. was robbed Thursday morning, Aug. 2.

Am employee was opening the restaurant at 4:25 a.m. when a man wearing a mask and carrying a knife approached her from behind.

The suspect ordered the employee inside and forced her to turn over an unknown amount of money, said Capt. Ross Bonfiglio of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.

The employee was not injured during the robbery.

Deputies are still investigating the incident.
