Get ready to grill at cook-off

The Moorpark Chamber of Commerce is seeking a sponsor for the Moorpark Festival and BBQ Rib Cook-off event slated to take place at Tierra Rejada Ranch from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat., Sept. 8.

Teams from throughout California will compete "grill to grill" with each other to see who has the best barbecue, according to Lisa Masotti, Chamber president.

The event is sanctioned by the California BBQ Association. Professional judges will be on hand to award prizes in several categories, including Best Ribs, Best Chicken, Best Tri-Tip and People's Choice.

In addition to good food and friendly competition, the festival will feature Mr. Blue the clown, rides and games- fun for the whole family.

There will be live entertainment and arts and crafts, and 93.1 Jack FM radio will broadcast from the site, with backup from 92.7 Jill FM
