Molassas cookies

This is an old-time cookie recipe, made with real black molasses, nice and soft. 3/4 cup shortening 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup sugar 1 teaspoon baking soda 2 well-beaten eggs 2 teaspoons cinnamon 1 cup light molasses 1 teaspoon ginger 4 cups flour 3/4 cup cold strong coffee

Thoroughly cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and molasses. Beat well.

Add mixed dry ingredients alternately with coffee. Drop from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Makes seven dozen cookies.
