Celebrate peace in Ojai

In celebration of the United Nations' International Day of Peace, the Eleven Days of Global Unity and the Season for Interfaith Celebration will sponsor the "Living Peace in Ojai" event, Sept. 21 to 23.

A peace vigil will be held at Libbey Park in Ojai at 7 p.m. Fri., Sept. 21. The film "Peace One Day" will be screened outdoors at sunset.

"The Retreats of Ojai" will host open houses at various locations in Ojai from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sat., Sept. 22. For details and locations, visit www.retreatsofojai.com.

Also on Saturday, patrons can enjoy a lawn picnic and music by Jonathan McEwan from 5 to 7 p.m. at Libbey Bowl. The Gift of Peace plays at 7 p.m. with a suggested donation of $10. At 8:30 p.m. is the Concert for World Dance with music by the Khalife Band.

An interfaith/interspiritual gathering and celebration with sunrise meditation, service, music and chanting is scheduled from 6 a.m. to noon Sun., Sept. 23 at the Libbey Bowl.
