College to host Discovery Day

The Moorpark College Child Development Center presents Discovery Day from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sat., Oct. 20 on the center's grounds at the college, 7075 Campus Road.

Discovery Day is the center's semiannual fundraiser.

The day is filled with educational activities for parents and their children from ages 2 to 10. The center's staff and students will provide a developmental, process-oriented environment.

Kids can "mine for gold" in the sandbox, experiment with ice and "doughs," "blast off" in a space ship, "buy groceries" in a store and more.

Toymaker Gene West will visit, and the Sunshine Band will play from noon to 1 p.m.

The cost is $5 per child and $3 per adult.
