Active Adult Programs

The Moorpark Active Adult Center presents the following activities for seniors this month.

Events require a reservation and will meet at 799 Moorpark Ave. unless otherwise noted. Programs are free unless a donation is requested.

•The 2007 Moorpark Senior Games conclude Fri., Oct. 12 with a free awards luncheon for all participants at in the Peppertree Pavilion, Arroyo Vista Park, 4550 Tierra Rejada Road. Tournament winners will receive medals. Guests may attend for $5, and reservations are required.

•Local artists will display their gourd art from Sun., Oct. 14 through Wed., Oct. 17 in the Citrus Room, Moorpark Civic Center, 799 Moorpark Ave.

The public is invited to an artists' reception with light refreshments from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 14. There is no charge to attend the reception or the exhibition.

•The flu shot clinic will be Wed., Oct. 17 for adults age 65 and up, and for those younger with a chronic condition that needs a flu shot. Shots will also be available to immediate family members of those at risk who are over age 13.

Cost for flu shots for those under 65 is $25. Seniors need to bring their Medicare card.

Reservations are required by calling the center. Seniors should call to see if their medical plan will pay for the shot.
