Sheriff's Blotter On Oct.1 someone was seen spray-painting graffiti on the Loyola Street overpass of the arroyo. Between Sept. 20 and Oct. 1 vandals used paint markers to deface property in the 4700 block of Moorpark Avenue. Thieves broke locks to storage containers at Performance Nursery in the 12700 block of Tierra Rejada Road between Sept. 29 and Oct. 1. They also defaced property on the site and broke irrigation pipes. Cars parked in the 7300 block of Zaharias Court between Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 were burglarized. A business in the 15700 block of Los Angeles Avenue was struck by graffiti vandals on Sept. 30. On Sept. 30 a car parked in the 6500 block of Marquette Street was burglarized by thieves when a part was stolen from the vehicle. A car parked in the 13600 block of Bear Valley Road was burglarized on Sept. 30. Between Sept. 28 and 29 thieves entered a car parked in the 13600 block of Christian Barrett Drive. Another car was burglarized between Sept. 28 and 29 in the 6500 block of Pinnacle Court. Between Sept. 28 and 29 a car parked in the 15000 block of Campus Park Drive was spray-painted with graffiti. On Sept. 29 thieves entered the Alliance Gas Station in the 50 block of Los Angeles Avenue, concealed food beneath their clothing and left the store without paying. Between Sept. 28 and 29, items were stolen from a car parked in the 13700 block of Christian Barrett Drive. A car parked in the 13700 block of Donnybrook Lane was burglarized on Sept. 29. Vandals defaced a sign in the breezeway in the 4300 block of Woodglen Drive on Sept. 29. Known suspects stole items from a rental property in the 4200 block of Santa Rosa Drive between July 10 and Sept. 28. Vandals scrawled gang graffiti throughout a parking lot and on a lightpost on Sept. 25 in the 500 block of Poindexter Avenue. The damaged property belongs to the city of Moorpark. A locker was burglarized on Sept. 25 in the 4500 block of Tierra Rejada Road. On Sept. 25 a man approached another person in the vicinity of the 500 block of Poindexter Avenue and told him he was going to fight him because the victim was from Guatemala. The aggressor then grabbed a stick and struck the victim, causing him injury. The man with the stick was arrested in Simi Valley. Between Sept. 21 and 22 a car was burglarized in the 600 block of Flinn Avenue. Someone cut holes in a chainlink fence surrounding a property in the 400 block of Moorpark Road between Aug. 30 and Sept. 24. On Sept. 22 a man stole beer from the 7-Eleven in the 500 block of Los Angeles Avenue. On Oct. 1, during routine contact with a motorist who was driving without using a seat belt, the driver was found to be in possession of marijuana. The incident took place at the corner of Walnut Street and Cole Avenue. On Sept. 30 in the 100 block of Los Angeles Avenue an officer who pulled over a driver for making an unsafe turn saw the man displayed symptoms of being under the influence of an illegal drug. An evaluation proved the officer correct. Officers arriving on the scene of a possible residential robbery in the 6400 block of Penn Street on Sept. 27 noticed the caller displayed signs of being under the influence of illegal drugs. The man was also found to be in possession of a glass smoking pipe. The man was on parole and he was arrested. A man found by an officer to be intoxicated in public on Sept. 26 in the 400 block of Moorpark Avenue was taken into custody. A driver in an accident that took place on Sept. 26 at the intersection of Tierra Rejada Road and Los Angeles Avenue was found to be intoxicated and was arrested. On Sept. 26 a man entered a home in the 14900 block of Marquette Street, breaking the terms of a restraining order. Deputies arrived and arrested the man without incident. A man recently released from prison hadn't registered as a gang member within 10 days of his release as required. On Sept. 22, he was contacted in the 300 block of Esther Avenue and found to be under the influence of illegal drugs. He was taken into custody. In the course of a probation search on Sept. 22 in the 15700 block of Arroyo Drive, a man was found to be in possession of eight hypodermic needles and displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested. On Sept. 22, during a probation search in the 15700 block of Los Angeles Avenue, a woman was found to be under the influence of illegal drugs and was arrested. During an investigation of a run on a red light on Sept. 13 at the intersection of Los Angeles Avenue and Tierra Rejada Road, officers pulled over the driver to find him intoxicated. He was arrested and taken to East Valley Jail. |
