Science night and silent auction at Walnut Canyon Elementary School planned

Walnut Canyon School PTA will present its annual science night and silent auction "Astronomical Journeys" from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wed., Oct. 17 at 280 Casey Road, Moorpark.

There will be telescopes set up at the back of the school for viewing Jupiter. Science educator Bob Redman will present "Rockets and Robots in Space" and a Star Lab planetarium will be set up in the multipurpose room. Entry stickers will be available for Star Lab admittance.

The Space Shuttle Cafe in front of the school will serve dinner.

The silent auction in the library will feature gift baskets and certificates to local stores. Proceeds will help fund PTA programs such as Science, Craft and Reading nights.

In the event of rain or cloud cover, the program will be postponed to Wed., Oct. 24.
