Conference on HIV prevention to take place at CSUCI

Ventura County AIDS Partnership will host a conference, "HIV Prevention: Innovation and Best Practices," from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fri., Oct. 26 at California State University Channel Islands, One University Drive, Camarillo.

Topics to be covered include an overview of HIV prevention research, using research in proposals and programs, model programs and resources, community level interventions, popular opinion, empowerment, and prevention successes and challenges.

The conference is appropriate for organizational leadership, program planners, grant writers, health providers, board members, outreach workers, peer health educators, volunteers and students.

The cost of $20 includes lunch, refreshments and materials; scholarships are available.
