Sheriff's Blotter A thief burglarized a locked car parked in the 11600 block of Country Springs Court on Oct. 8. Credit cards removed from the car were then used to purchase items. Vandals sprayed graffiti on walls in the construction site at Majestic Court and Millard Street. After breaking the car window, thieves stole a car stereo and a speaker box from a car parked at the intersection of East Hartford Street and Pepperdine Circle sometime between Oct. 7 and 8. On Oct. 7 an unknown suspect battered a man with a 3-inch thick tree branch. The incident took place in the 4700 block of Justin Street. A man insisted on entering a woman's private backyard after allegedly being told numerous times not to return. This happened on Oct. 7 in the 600 block of Charles Street. Thugs stole money from a man on Oct. 6 in the 500 block of Poindexter Street. The thieves allegedly threatened the man with wood sticks. Apartments in the 4700 block of Moorpark Avenue were spray painted with graffiti on Oct. 4. Damage was estimated to exceed $400. A car parked in the 4100 block of Laurelview Drive was burglarized sometime between Sept. 29 and Oct. 2. A woman was victim to a theft in the 100 block of Everett Street sometime between Aug. 13 and Oct. 1. Cash was stolen from inside her bedroom closet. Vandals scrawled misspelled graffiti on the retaining wall of a new housing track at the intersection of Los Angeles Avenue and Millard Street. The incident took place sometime between Aug. 31 and Oct. 1. On Sept. 29, vandals scribbled white paint marker on a vehicle parked behind the Ralph's Grocery Store in the 100 block of W. Los Angeles Avenue. Sometime between Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, thieves entered a vehicle parked in the 11200 block of Bentcreek Road and stole property. The 11800 block of Courtney Lane was the scene of another car break-in sometime between Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. Personal items were stolen from that car as well. Another car burglary took place sometime between Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 in the 4600 block of Pepper Mill Street. There was a car burglary in the 13500 block of Ashbrook Lane on Sept. 29. Items were stolen from the inside of the car. A condo in the 14800 block of Campus Park Drive was burglarized sometime between Sept. 24 and 29. Someone entered the Target Store in the 800 block of Los Angeles Avenue on Sept. 25 and allegedly broke open packaging, stuffed product into his pants and tried to walk out of the store without paying. Against the wishes of the owner, people allegedly entered a property in the 14700 block of Hartford Street on Sept. 26 and would not leave. Sometime between Sept. 11 and 18, someone stole credit cards from a residence in the 13200 block of Westcott Street and used them to buy goods and or services. A man's license plate was found on Oct. 8 at the scene of a hit-and-run situation in the 400 block of Harry Street. The corresponding car was found parked on the front lawn of the licensee's home. The man allegedly did not have a valid driver's license and had a strong odor of alcohol about him. He was taken into custody after failing a field sobriety test. In the course of a routine stop for expired registration tags done on Oct. 7 at the intersection of Spring Road at Princeton Avenue, the driver was allegedly found to be in possession of a three-inch switchblade knife. He was cited and released. On Oct. 7 a man became involved in an injury car wreck at the intersection of Los Angeles Avenue at Leta Yancy Road. The driver allegedly showed signs of being intoxicated, and was arrested. During a contact with suspects apparently stripping a car in a dirt lot north of Wicks Road, one man allegedly refused to follow officer's directions to sit on the ground. As a result, the man was forced to the ground and arrested for obstruction. On Sept. 7 three different men were arrested for alleged public intoxicatwithout his headlights on the 200 block High Street. All three were taken into custody. On Oct. 6 a man allegedly sitting in a truck protruding into an oncoming lane on Los Angeles Avenue at Freemont Street was approached by officers, only to find the driver on probation for DUI, allegedly to be drunk. After a DUI investigation, the man was booked into Main Jail. During a routine traffic stop on Oct. 5 in an undisclosed part of Moorpark, a passenger in the car pulled over was allegedly found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana. The man was cited and released. The police kept the pot. A woman driving over the center line on Read Road on Oct. 5 was pulled over. She was allegedly found to be driving under the influence of both drugs and alcohol. On Sept. 4 a man pulled over on Hwy. 118 at Collins Road allegedly admitted to the officer that he had marijuana in his pocket. The man was cited and released. During an investigation of a suspicious circumstance on Oct. 1 at the In & Out Burger parking lot, a man was allegedly found to be under the influence of illegal drugs. |
