Train smashes truck on tracks
      A northbound Amtrak train sideswiped a large truck that was parked next to the tracks west of Grimes Canyon Road Tuesday evening. The accident, which occurred at 9:25 p.m. didn't cause any injuries. The driver of the truck was not at the scene when authorities arrived.

City to collect electronic waste
      The city of Moorpark will host its first free electronic waste collection event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., Nov. 17. The event will take place behind the Police Services Center at 627 Fitch Ave. Only Moorpark residents may drop off items.

Foundation names directors
      Gary E. Erickson, Roz McGrath and Michael D. Bradbury have been added to the Camarillobased Ventura County Community Foundation board of directors. Erickson is president and CEO of The Erickson Group, which provides consulting services to the nonprofit community.
