Active Adult Programs

The Moorpark Active Adult Center presents the following activities for seniors this month.

Events require a reservation and will meet at 799 Moorpark Ave. unless otherwise noted. Programs are free unless a donation is requested.

•Ventura County residents age 60 and up may receive free carotid artery testing at the center on Fri., Nov. 2 by appointment. No reservations will be taken from voice mail.

•An AARP Mature Driver class will be offered from 1 to 5 p.m. Tues. and Wed., Nov. 6 and 7 in the Citrus Room, adjacent to the center. Cost is $10. Qualified course graduates age 50 and up can qualify for an auto insurance discount. Participants must attend both days to receive a class certificate.

•Professional photographer Cary Shapiro will take photo portraits of older adults from 9 a.m. to noon Fri., Nov. 9 by appointment. The cost of $6 includes the sitting fee and one 8by10 photograph which can be picked up in December. Fee is due at the time of photography.

Suggested attire is solid colors and long sleeves- no checks or patterns. Family members and/ or pets may be included in the photograph.
