Moorpark Prez hosts inspirational speaker for men's dinner

Moorpark Presbyterian Church invites local men to a dinner and a talk by an inspirational speaker at 6:15 p.m. Fri., Nov. 2 in the church Fellowship Hall, 13950 Peach Hill Road.

Rick Shurtz will discuss "Being a Wise Guy in a Foolish World." Shurtz's teaching applies the practical wisdom found in the book of Proverbs toward marriage, relationships and God.

Shurtz is a local licensed marriage and family therapist with more than 25 years professional experience. He has worked as director of counseling services for two churches as an on-staff therapist. He has developed various family education programs in couples communication, parenting skills, financial planning crisis intervention, and adolescent and child development.

Shurtz grew up in the mission fields of Brazil and Mexico and now assists in pastor training and evangelic outreach in both Africa and Brazil.

The event is free and child care will be provided.
