Sheriff's Blotter A concrete wall and concrete benches were spray-painted with graffiti in the 6400 block of North Harvard Street sometime between Oct. 27 and 28. On Oct. 28 in the 200 block of Dorothy Drive someone struck a man on the forehead with a weapon, causing him injury. Moorpark High School was hit with graffiti on Oct. 25. Damages were estimated at $1,000. Someone threw a rock through the glass front door of a business in the 14700 block of Princeton Avenue on Oct. 24. Sometime between Oct. 17 and 24, a known suspect stole property from the Kohl's store in the 800 block of Los Angeles Avenue. A preschool in the 200 block of Flory Avenue was spray-painted with graffiti between Oct. 17 and 24. Thieves used a man's checking account information and made bank checks, using them to purchase items from both a Costco and an Albertsons store. The crime took place sometime between Oct. 11 and 17. The victim lives in the 200 block of Moorpark Avenue. Sometime between Oct. 18 and 20, thieves used information stolen from a resident of the 11800 block of Barletta Street to obtain a cellphone and use the victim's credit card without permission. On Oct. 22 in the 14600 block of Marymount Court, someone forced entry into a residence and stole property. A known resident of the 13600 block of Grand Isle Drive cashed a fradulent check at the Mayflower Market in the 100 block of High Street on Oct. 16. A wallet and an iPod were stolen from a car parked in the 50 block of Majestic Court sometime between Oct. 15 and 16. Cars in the 11200 block of Bentcreek Road were burglarized sometime between Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. During a routine traffic stop in an unspecified part of Moorpark, a driver was found to be in possession of marijuana and was arrested. A man was assaulted on Oct. 28 in the 200 block of Dorothy Street. He was beaten badly and in need of stitches. A suspect was arrested at the scene. During investigation of a noninjury collision at Walnut Canyon north of Casey Drive on Oct. 27, the driver showed signs of being drunk. He failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody. On Oct. 27, an officer saw a man in the 400 block of West Los Angeles Avenue wearing metal "knuckles." While arresting the suspect for possession of a dangerous weapon, the officer found that the man was also in possession of a controlled substance. At the intersection of Spring Road and High Street, a man was arrested on Oct. 25 for possession of marijuana while driving a vehicle.
A female suspect was put in the back of a patrol car after an arrest at the intersection of Los Angeles Avenue and Maureen Lane for driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended license and allowing a minor to be in possession of alcohol on Oct. 24. She slipped off her handcuffs and used them to break the right rear window of the patrol vehicle and attempted to climb out through the window. |
