Students at Peach Hill Academy recently attended two special assemblies on health and safety led by the new DARE officer, Dep. Chris Love.
These assemblies were the finale to Red Ribbon Week at the school.
While speaking to students in kindergarten through second grade, Love discussed Halloween safety such as trickortreating with an adult, carrying a flashlight and waiting to eat candy until after returning home, where it can be inspected.
He also covered bicycle safety, what to do if lost in public, memorizing one's home phone number and when to call 911.
In his talk to grades three through five, Love covered such topics as graffiti, skateboarding safety and what to do if approached by a stranger.
Love also gave all the children the opportunity to ask questions.
