Colleges partner together to offer four-year degrees The University of La Verne and Moorpark College are offering a program that will allow students to complete a bachelor's degree without leaving the Moorpark campus. Through the newly established University of La Verne at Moorpark College program, students may attain bachelor's degrees in business administration, child development and liberal studies. After successful completion of all course work at Moorpark, students will receive a bachelor's degree from ULV. Designed for working students or those desiring accelerated degree completion on a flexible schedule, the courses will be offered evenings and/or on weekends in an accelerated semester calendar. The program will complement Moorpark College's PACE (Program for Accelerated College Education) program, which provides working students the opportunity to complete an associate degree in an accelerated evening/ weekend format. Students in the new program will have a streamlined transfer and admission process, opportunity for concurrent enrollment, financial aid, oneonone admission and academic advising provided on-site by ULV counselors, and other ULV academic and student services. Students will be required to complete 44 upperdivision (junior and senior level) units through ULV and may meet all other requirements by completing lowerdivision classes through Moorpark College. The program will be taught and administered by the faculty and staff of the ULV Ventura County Campus in Oxnard, supported by the university's main campus in La Verne. For more information, call Kevin Laack at (805) 981-8030, ext. 223. Applications are already being accepted with the first classes scheduled to begin in June 2008. |
