Nar-Anon group to meet
a Simi Nar-Anon Family

Group, a support group for families and friends of drug addicts, will host a guest speaker at 7:30 p.m. Sat., Nov. 17 at the United Methodist Church, 2394 Erringer Road, Simi Valley.

Linda Gertson, PhD, will discuss the challenges of helping an addict that also suffers from mental illness. She will explain what family members can do to help them, available resources and how to differentiate between a real mental illness and the behavior caused by addiction.

Gertson is a clinical psychologist serving as behavioral health manager for Ventura County Behavioral Health.

The meeting is free and reservations are not needed.
