Wants bright colors in new mall

A few weeks ago while driving down Collins I noticed that the storefronts on the new strip mall were painted different colors: purple, yellow, blue and maybe others that I don't recall. I commented to my family how much I liked it and how nice it was that it didn't look like every other strip mall in Southern California- Orange/Brown Boring I think they call it.

What happened? Someone painted over it with that oh so common OBB, and now it does look like every other strip mall in Southern California. Who can I blame for this, and who gets credit for the original refreshing color palette? It really stood out and brightened our neighborhood. Now it just looks like another big orange splotch in the ground. Sigh.
