Auditions for 'Golden Pond'

The High Street Arts Center is casting for three male roles in its upcoming production of "On Golden Pond" by Ernest Thompson. Rolland Petrello is directing.

Auditions are 7 p.m. Tues. and Wed., Dec. 11 and 12 at the High Street Arts Center, 45 E. High St., Moorpark. Sides will be provided at the audition or are available at www .highstreetartscenter.com.

Rehearsals begin the week of Dec. 18. Performances are Feb. 2 through March 2, on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. There is no pay.

The roles of Norman Thayer, Ethel Thayer and Chelsea Thayer Wayne are cast. Following are the open roles:

Charlie Martin, male, 35 to 50. Chelsea's former summer romance, he is now the mailman at Golden Pond. Weather-beaten face, smiling eyes and charming in his own rustic and simple way.

Bill Ray, male, 35 to 50. A dentist. Chelsea's fiance and father to Billy Ray Jr. Serious but has a good sense of humor.

Billy Ray Jr., boy, 12 to 16. Sharp-tongued, flippant, uses his wit to cover his awkwardness. Deep down, he's eager and bright. His hair is longer, and his posture is terrible.

Those interested in auditioning should contact L.J. Stevens at the High Street Arts Center at (805)529-8700. When leaving a message, leave your name, age and a return phone number. Your phone call will be returned as soon as possible.
