Don't criticize the space program

Re: "High gas prices not a boon to station owners," Nov. 30.

It's almost always a sure bet that the people griping that the woes of their world would be eased by cancellation of all scientific exploration and endeavor, such as probes to Jupiter and Mars, are not PhDs and the highly educated and enlightened souls of the world.

Hence, in an article about high gas prices, the costly war in Iraq is not mentioned, but an unmanned mission to Jupiter is. Billie Jo Mason Simi Valley
