Wants to read more good news

The Moorpark Acorn article "Vandals put dent in holiday spirit," Dec. 6, states, "The Grinch has been stealing the Christmas spiriin Campus Park neighborhoods on the east end of Moorpark. A rash of thefts and vandalism took place there last week, leaving residents to wonder about their safety." Once again the bad and sad of oucommunity is being reported. A few nights ago right after sunset, I saw the great of our community when a group of musicians from our youth took their time to add to holiday spiriin Moorpark. The Ventura Star had just been out interviewing those fine young people and when I asked abouthe Moorpark Acorn, their reply was that it was not covered.

I got specific with full intentions of writing this letter and a tall young man by the name of Van Dam told me he did not know why their young group was not interviewed by the Moorpark Acorn too. That they were okay with it but I am not. I love the time spent reading the Moorpark Acorn- what happened?

I strongly propose for every negative story about vandalism and graffiti that I intensely dislike that the Moorpark Acorn also report on our fine youth doing joyful and helpful things in our community. What a capital idea and how about some coverage of the group that was interviewed by rival paper the Star.

Some pictures of the young men and girls will also bring in readership from our youth. It is said that young people need to read more. Here is a great way to thank them and laud them for enriching our lives when they do wonderful everyday things like I witnessed the other night. Maria M. Hagman Moorpark
