Peach cobbler holiday dessert
Recipe of the week

2 cups flour
1 tbl. fresh lemon juice
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. butter
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup light cream, sweetened
3/4 cup milk
To taste and flavor with
3-1/2 cups cream
Ground nutmeg
Sliced peaches
Mix flour with baking powder, salt, and 1 tbl. sugar. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until fine. Add milk to make soft dough. Combine peaches, lemon juice, and 2 tbl. sugar, cinnamon, and butter in casserole. Pat out shortcake dough to fit top.

Bake in preheated hot oven at 450 degrees for 10 min. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for 25 min. or longer or until crust is golden brown. Serve warm with the nutmeg-flavored cream.

Makes eight servings.
