Synagogue offers classes for adults

Congregation B'nai Emet is offering two adult Jewish education classes.

•Rabbi Michele Paskow will teach "What does Judaism say about it? How Jewish beliefs and practices affect our lives" for five Sundays from 11 to 11:45 a.m. starting Jan. 27.

•School administrator Meridith Patera will lead "Love and violence in ancient Israel: Stories from the early prophets" on five Mondays from 7:40 to 9 p.m. beginning Jan. 28.

The cost for each class is $50 for congregation members, $65 for nonmembers and half price for high school and college students.
