Arts festival calls for city photos
Kids, adults can submit pictures

The Moorpark Arts Festival will feature "My Home Town," an exhibit of photographs taken by residents ages 5 and up.

Participants must reside, work or attend school in Moorpark. All photographers will be given a disposable camera to shoot their impressions of the city.

Applications are due Tues., March 11. To apply, call the city at (805) 517-6260 or visit www.moorparkartsfestival.com.

Photographers must attend an orientation meeting at 8 p.m. Tues., March 18. Students under 18 must attend with one or more parent or guardian.

Each participant will be given a list of questions about Moorpark which they must answer with a photograph. The participant must take the pictures and turn in the camera by 5 p.m. April 1.

Participants pay a $10 deposit for the project camera which will be refunded on return of the camera in undamaged condition. Parents may need to help their child by providing transportation.

The Moorpark Arts Festival will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sun., May 4 at various downtown locations. The photography exhibit will be in the Civic Center complex at 799 Moorpark Ave.
