School bands toot their horns at fest

Moorpark High School will host a Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association Festival in the school Performing Arts Center, 4500 Tierra Rejada Road.

The festival will take place from 4 to 10 p.m. Fri., March 7 and from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sat., March 8. Admission is free.

Thirty-seven concert bands from Southern California will perform, including Mesa Verde and Chaparral Middle School Bands and all three Moorpark High School concert bands.

Each band will perform for 15 minutes before going to a clinic led by a music instructor.
