Police recover stolen goods

Three Moorpark adults and two juveniles were recently arrested for allegedly possessing stolen items taken from vehicles parked in Moorpark and Thousand Oaks over the past few weeks.

Detectives also recovered a stolen car parked on the side of the house of one of the suspects. The vehicle had been partially stripped and abandoned on a secluded road within the city limits. The investigation led authorities to seize two more cars equipped with stolen parts or stolen stereo equipment, authorities said.

To date, Ramon Rodriguez, Carlos Rodriguez, Fernando Vaca and two 16-year-olds have been arrested in connection with the crimes. Authorities are continuing to investigate whether additional individuals were involved, they said.

"The group was primarily taking radios and electronic equipment and selling it to different people on the street," said Sgt. Will Hammer of the Moorpark Police.

Vehicle burglaries and car theft incidents have increased throughout the region because people leave things in their cars, he said, reminding residents to make sure valuables are out of sight.
