Entry deadline approaching for Moorpark Arts Festival

The Moorpark Arts Festival is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sun., May 4 at various sites in the downtown/High Street area.

Artists are encouraged to submit up to four pieces of art no more than three years old.

Work will be accepted in the following categories; ceramic art, gourd art, and drawing, painting, photography and sculpture.

Drop off dates for artwork is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mon, April 28 and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tues., April 29. The festival jury will make final selections and notify selected artists by May 1.

In addition to the fine arts exhibits at the Civic Center, the festival will feature live performances and interactive arts for children.

The Moorpark City Library will host recitations and poetry readings.

The High Street Arts Center will showcase performances by local bands, dance troupes, singers, Moorpark College musical groups and other musicians.

Moorpark Family Resource Center and First Five Ventura County will provide an interactive event for children.

The High Studio Fine Arts Gallery will display "California Landscapes," an exhibit featuring area artists in a variety of media.
