Area Agency on Aging seeks applicants

The Moorpark City Council requests that interested persons submit an application for consideration for appointment to the Advisory Council for the Area Agency on Aging.

The two-year term begins July 1 and expires June 30, 2010. Applicants must be age 60 or older and a resident of Moorpark.

The Area Agency on Aging is responsible for the implementation of the Older Americans Act in Ventura County. Its mandated functions are planning and coordinating senior citizen programs and the administrationofal lOlder American Act funds.

The Advisory Council is comprised mainly of senior citizens who advise and promote the orderly development of senior citizen services. Nineteen delegates serve on the Advisory Council.

The council meets seven times a year in the Advisory Council Center at 646 County Square Drive, St e . 100, Ventura.

Applications are available at the Moorpark Active Adult Center and City Hall at 799 Moorpark Ave., and online at www.ci.moorpark.ca.us.

Applications may only be submitted to the city clerk at City Hall and must be received by 5 p.m. Fri., May 16.
