Painting, sculpture, dance celebrated in weekend ArtWalk

Ventura Harbor Village will hold Art in Motion in celebration of Ventura's ArtWalk Weekend from 10 a.m. to dusk tomorow, Sat., April 26 at Ventura Harbor Village.

The event will feature opportunities to view artwork in progress and talk to artists about their work, as well as hands-on projects.

Highlights of the day's activities include a chalk street painting, Brooks Institute Ventura Harbor Photo Contest, children's art project with Lakeshore, easel painting with watercolors, art projects using recyclable materials from Art From Scrap, stunt kite-flying, art vendors, Ventura Harbor Gallery featuring local artist Robert Wassell, ice sculpting with Jean Luc of Le Petit Restaurant, live dance performances with the Rising Phoenix Morris Dancers and authentic Greek performers.

The Art in Motion weekend will reveal the newest art piece to the Harbor Village, a sculpture titled "Cranes of Peace" by Christine Bierne.

Limoneria Company will present a hot air balloon glow at dusk on the Ventura Harbor Main Lawn. From 4 p.m. to dusk children and adults will be allowed to participate in chalk paintings on the Main Lawn Stage.

Parking and admission are free. Some activities will require a small fee.
