Chamber opens website for community posting

The Moorpark Chamber of Commerce is inviting local groups and organizations to post their events on the Chamber's online calendar at www.Moorparkchamber.com.

The community service may help local organizations, sports league and schools to publicize their events and attract more people, said Dale Parvin, president of the Chamber board.

"Everyone involved in the city of Moorpark should participate," said Patrick Ellis, Chamber president and CEO. Posting events online in one place could help to prevent conflicts, he said.

"We've seen in the past through our own experience and from talking to other people and organizations that if we don't have a way to track events in the city, people end up putting on events on top of other events that might be better served on different dates and times as to benefit both events."

The service is free to the public. "We strongly encourage the school district and youth organizations to participate in this program. That way everyone can plan their time appropriately for all those events," Ellis said.

Information may be submitted online or at the Chamber office at 18 High St.
