The Moorpark Active Adult Center presents the following activities for seniors this month.

Events require a reservation and will meet at 799 Moorpark Ave. unless otherwise noted. Programs are free unless a donation is requested.

•The Mother's Day party starts with lunch at 11:45 a.m. Fri., May 9. A surprise entertainment begins at 12:45 p.m., followed by prizes for the female guests. Suggested lunch donation is $2.25. Reservations are requested by Tues., May 6.

•Katharine Raley, manager of the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program, will give a free presentation on Medicare at 10:30 a.m. Wed., May 14.

Topics include Medicare fraud, Medicare preventive pneumonia injection program, and assistance eligibility for Part D premium and co-pays.

•A recorded DVD lecture by Professor Richard Wolfson of Middlebury College will be at 12:45 p.m. Mon., May 19 in the Active Adult Center "theater" with wide screen and surround sound. The lectures are "A Tale of Three Planets" and "Global Recycling."

•The Forever Young Singers will present a mix of seasonal tunes following the May birthday luncheon Wed., May 28. Lunch will be served at noon in the multipurpose room. The free concert begins at 1 p.m.

The suggested lunch donation is $2.25 for those age 60 and up and $5 for all others.

•The center will sponsor a trip to the Getty Center in Los Angeles on June 11. A bus will leave at 10 a.m. from the lot in front of Café Firenze in the Mission Bell Plaza on Los Angeles Avenue. Return is approximately 5:15 p.m. Participants may take part in a private tour of the Getty Garden at 1 p.m.

The trip cost is $15. Bring money for lunch at the Getty. No refunds after May 23.
